Ch.11 Journal

Dear Diary, hey buddy how you been? The next morning, me and my few companions try to light the fire in the cold air, but the attempt is hopeless without Piggy’s glasses. Piggy, squinting and barely able to see, suggests that I hold a meeting to discuss their options. I blew the conch shell, and the boys who have not gone to join Jack's tribe assemble on the beach. They decide that their only choice is to travel to the Castle Rock to make Jack and his followers see reason. I've  decided to take the conch shell to the Castle Rock, hoping that it will remind Jack’s followers of his former authority. Once at Jack’s camp, however, my group encounters armed guards. Jack and I fought for the second time in a row, and Piggy cries out shrilly, struggling to make himself heard over the brawl. I heard  the rock falling, I dove and dodges it. But the boulder strikes Piggy, shatters the conch shell he is holding, and knocks him o...

Ch.10 Journal

Dear Diary, Ralph here. Me and Piggy met Early this morning. Piggy and I are bruised up and sore, we feel ashamed of our behavior the previous night. At the Castle Rock, Jack rules with absolute power. Boys are punished for no apparent reason. Jack ties up and beats a boy named Wilfred and then warns the boys against me and my small group, saying that they are a danger to the tribe. The entire tribe, including Jack, seems to believe that Simon really was the beast, and that the beast is capable of assuming any disguise. The boys at my camp drift off to sleep, depressed and losing interest in the signal fire. I was sleeping fitfully, plagued by nightmares. then we are awakened by howling and shrieking and are suddenly attacked by a group of Jack’s hunters. The hunters badly beat me and his companions, who do not even know why they were assaulted, for they gladly would have shared the fire with the other boys. But i guess Piggy knows why, for t...

Ch.9 Journal

Dear Diary, Ralph here. How you been? Oh me, I'll do better hopefully. Simon threw up earlier, he smelt the dead body. Jacks side of the mountain had a little bit of smoke coming from it, I knew the boys picked him. I just have the littlun's and Piggy left. Piggy thinks their going to join Jack at the festival. I mean... I guess so. Piggy thinks it's only right to join the festival. Jack does this new thing were he waves his spear when he speaks, just like I did when I used the conch. I noticed them trying to persuade the boys to stay with their group. its fine I guess... The conch means nothing now absolutely ZERO power! Today the boys thought the parachutists was the beast. like seriously. So the parachutists slid off the mountain and now were fine. I mean I think we are... R.I.P Simon, you was a great friend to every single one of us. You helped us all, but me the most especially when I didn't want you around. Your always remembered.   ...

Ch.8 Journal

Dear Diary, I missed you. Ready to hear what I have to say? Well... Jack decided that he was going to take the conch shell in blow into it for an assembly. He tells the boys that he's positive there's a beast on the top of the mountain. Then he talks about how I'm the coward who should be removed from my leadership role. Like who is he to make the rules? However the boys decided they wasn't going to remove me. It made Jack upset so he stormed away saying he was leaving and if any boy wanted to join then to follow him.      Piggy was happy that Jack was leaving. I was in deep trouble because I had no clue what to do. Simon added that we should go to the mountain to find the beast. The boys were afraid to act on his suggestion so we they didn't bother. Then I went into a depression, but piggy succeeded at cheering me up. Piggy said that they should make a new fire signal again, my mind lit up for a second. I felt like we'd be saved.....

Ch.7 Journal

Dear Bestfriend/Diary, Today was an okay day. The boys stop to eat as they traveled up the mountain. I gazed disconsolately at the choppy ocean and muses on the fact that the boys have become slovenly and undisciplined. I looked out at the vast expense of the water, I felt weird. Kind of like a wall blocking any chance of the boys escaping.      That afternoon, the hunters found pig droppings, and jack suggests they hunt the pig while they continue to search for the beast. Of course the boys agreed and they ended up tracking a large boar, which lead them on a wild chase.      Night time falls, and I suggested we wait until morning to climb he mountain because it was very difficult to hunt the monster at night. Jack tried to challenge me to join the hunt at first I was unsure of it, then I finally agreed. Jack, Roger, and I all began to climb the mountain. Roger and I got to the top and saw a terrifying spe...

Ch.6 Journal

Dear Diary, its me Ralph. I missed you, I hope you missed me. In the darkness late that night, Simon and I carry a littlun back to the shelter before going to sleep. The boys were sleeping when suddenly military airplanes were battle fiercely above the island. I was surprised that none of the boys see the explosions and flashes in the clouds because the twins Sam and Eric, who were supposed to watch the signal fire, have fallen asleep.      Sam and Eric had awaken to tend the fire and make the flames brighter. In the flickering firelight, they see the twisted form of the dead parachutist and mistake the shadowy image for the figure of the dreaded beast. I was sleeping when they came rushing back to tell me what they saw. So the group climbs the hill, and Jack and I feel our old bond coming back. Then again the boys began to play games. Messing with rocks and pushing them into the sea. I get angry and remind them ...

Ch.5 Journal

Dear Diary, Ralph again did you miss me? Oh boy I've been waiting to write to you. I was walking along the beach today, I thought about how much of life is an improvisation and about how a considerable part of one’s waking life is spent watching one’s feet. I tried to get the group back in line by calling a meeting, At the meeting place, I gripped the conch shell and berate the boys for their failure to uphold the group’s rules.       If they don't listen we'll never get out this place. I'm ready to go home, but they don't care. It's not fair to me, Simon, and Piggy. I cant blame the littlun's because their still babies. Oh boy the boys are saying I'm not doing my job. What do I say? Do I call the meeting off? I'll just leave it right here       I don't know anymore diary. I'm gonna call it a day, and leave it to them. Then again never mind, I'm gonna stick here for a little bit. I wish you could write back to me or ...

Symbol Blong

This picture is a symbol of a Conch Shell. The Conch represents Civilization. Ralph and Piggy were the first to find it on the beach.      The next picture is a symbol of a fire. The fire represents hope for rescue. The boys had to watch the fire, but as they saw the ships they fire went out. Ralph was highly upset. The next picture is a symbol of a fire. The fire represents hope for rescue. The boys had to watch the fire, but as they saw the ships they fire went out. Ralph was highly upset. that could've been their chance of being saved. the boys didn't do their job as they should've.   The last picture is a symbol of the huts in LOTF. The fire represents their homes. Ralph and Simon spent a while building them, but they always seemed to fall down. These homes were for the boys even though they didn't bother helping. Although Ralph was upset about he still helped them being the one the boys counted on fo...

Ch.4 Journal

                                                                                                                                                                       ...

The Beastie

Piggy doesn't think the beastie is real. Ralph thinks the beastie is an imagination. Then the littlun's think its some type of monster. Jack doesn't even care about it, he thinks its irrelevant to the situation. The littlun's are the only ones who think this creature lives in the ocean.       I personally think that the beastie is Jack, only because he's turning into more of a savage than everybody else. He's the only wanting to kill a pig but he's no the only one hungry for meat. he hunts for pigs daily .

Ch.3 Journal

Huts on the Beach is chapter 3 of the LOTF. As you can tell in the first two chapters everything was a little bumpy. Jack began to trail a pig through the jungle, but as you know it evades him. while Jack is walking he comes to land to see that Simon and I are working. We're building huts for the boys to live in. I was upset because my huts kept on falling down. if your thinking it's because the other boys won't help then your absolutely right.      I was annoyed that Jack, like all the other boys, is unwilling to work on the huts, means that Jack and the hunters are using their hunting duties as an excuse to avoid the real work. Jack responds to my complaints by saying that the boys want meat. Jack and I continue to bicker and grow increasingly hostile toward each other. Hoping to regain our sense of camaraderie, we go swimming together in the lagoon, but our feelings of mutual dislike remain and fester.  ...

Ch.2 Journal

chapter 2 of LOTF was a tad crazy. in the beginning of this chapter Ralph blows the conch and calls a meeting. the meeting is help and Ralph tell the boys that they need to be organized. so I'm guessing that means rules. all the boys have to raise their hands in order to speaks. Oh and don't forget your not allowed to speak unless you have the conch shell in hands.      The boys are happy to have rules so that their able to punish anyone who breaks them. seeing as how they might never get off the island they have to work together to get stuff done right.      Just a little more into the book Piggy, rather blind without his glasses, grabs the conch from Ralph and complains about how no one pays attention to his ideas. While the boys are arguing back and forth the fire is spreading. As the smoke drifts through the air, Piggy rants about all these things they should have done, like build shelters and show him some respect...

The Conch Shell

The conch shell is the shell that you can only use when your talking, but ralph has his say in anything he wants because he's boss. The conch symbolizes civilization and order in the novel. When  Piggy and Ralph found the conch on the beach they decided to use it to call all meetings. also Ralph is the one who decides who can use the conch.
